Luke Graham

Head of Research

Luke joined Pi Labs in 2021 from the University of Oxford’s Future of Real Estate Initiative. For over a decade, he has conducted research on a wide range of themes affecting innovation in the built environment and is regularly sought out as a facilitator, educator and keynote speaker at top-tier universities, government agencies, NGOs, conferences and real estate executives.

Luke's real estate and innovation career began as an engineering sailor in the Australian Defence Force, where he started studying real estate economics and making direct investments before completing his service. After approximately 12 months as a research analyst, he co-founded and led the research and investment group First Link Property, growing it to a five-person team and arranging approximately 150 investments over four years in his mid-20s. Luke then led the merger of First Link Property into Blue Wealth Property. He relocated to Europe to further his studies while advising and leading real estate and technology firms in Europe, Africa, North America and Australia in both executive and NED roles.

At Pi Labs, Luke researches themes relevant to our funds and works closely with our network of limited partners. He focuses on nascent innovations related to sustainability and the digitalisation of the built environment. This enables our limited partners and portfolio companies to stay informed about the sector's future, how it affects them, and appropriate courses of action.

Luke has a Bachelor of Commerce (Property) from Western Sydney University, a Graduate Certificate of Change Management from the University of New South Wales, and an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford. He has also studied postgraduate modules in economics, history, and psychology to complement his suite of interdisciplinary research methods.
