  • We are looking for a Business Development Intern to join our energetic and ambitious team. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a leading domain-focused VC fund, as we embark on the fundraise of our fourth fund.

    Salary: £24,000 annually

    Location: Soho, London + remote working

    Target Start date (length): September 2024 (initial 6-month internship, followed by an extension and/or a transition to a full-time position, subject to performance)

    THE ROLE

    As Business Development Intern you will be involved in fundraising, and other activities to support the wider business. Specific activities will include sourcing potential investors through desktop research, building target outbound lists from web sources. In addition, you will have the opportunity to support on investor engagement (to current investors) and will be actively involved in organizing events. The role will allow you to get exposure to industry leaders and will offer an opportunity to significantly expand both your skills and your network.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Sourcing:

    • Working closely with the Business Development team to develop and improve email outbound and investor sourcing processes.

    • Performing desktop research to source prospective investors for the latest fundraise.

    • Collecting relevant research and analysis on the current VC fundraising environment, including information on which firms are allocating to venture, which firms are launching new venture programmes, and who the potential targets are for our fundraising activities.

    • Opportunities to meet with existing fund investors alongside the business development team to understand how Pi Labs may improve its engagement/investor relations.

    Material Production & Delivery:

    • Assisting in drafting fundraising materials, including tailored pitch decks and other ad-hoc materials required by specific investors during the fundraise.

    • Helping to collect relevant data from internal and external sources to share with target investors.

    • Supporting the business development team on fundraise/sales calls as needed.

    • Help maintain our Customer Relationship Management system (CRM), by ensuring all the latest information is logged.

    Other:

    • Supporting on internal and external event organisation (from planning to event delivery).

    • Supporting on the coordination of global investor roadshows (scheduling and logistics).

    • Working closely with adjacent teams in the business including the Pi Labs research, investment, and marketing teams to nurture and expand the Pi Labs platform, brand and ecosystem.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Recommended 0-1 years of work experience

    • Ideally having worked/interned in a role that required managing deadlines, lots of teamwork, and maintaining a high level of organisation.

    • Prior knowledge/experience within real estate or venture capital would be preferable, but is not required.

    • Must have knowledge of, or have a demonstrable interest in, built-world technology (i.e. PropTech, ConstructionTech, Smart Cities, etc.).

    • Strong analytical skills, a self-starter with good verbal communications, and excellent written and spoken English.

    • Extremely organized and able to complete both granular, focused exercises as well as broader, more strategic, tasks.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment alongside a young, and driven team.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
